The cast of PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim met the press on Tuesday, October 25 at Pearl Studios for an open rehearsal of the concert, which will take place at Alice Tully Hall on November 7.

Directed by Victor Lirio, the concert will feature selections from Stephen Sondheim’s musicals Company, West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Anyone Can Whistle, A Little Night Music, Sunday in the Park with George and more.

The rehearsal featured Jose Llana performing “Multitudes of Amys/Being Alive,” Ali Ewoldt and Adam Jacobs dueting on “One Hand, One Heart,” T.V. Carpio singing “Johanna,” and Ewoldt and Jacobs singing solos on “Somewhere” and “Finishing the Hat,” respectively. Llana, who noted that this concert was his first time performing Sondheim’s music professionally, also led the cast in a run-through of the concert’s opening number, “Company.”

The concert will be headlined by Lea Salonga, and also feature Joan Almedilla, Ester Barroso, Emy Baysic, Liz Casasola, Angel Desai, Rona Figueroa, Brian Jose, Lydia Gaston, Albert Guerzon, Joanne Javien, Jaygee Macapugay, Orville Mendoza, Paolo Montalban, Emily Morales, Jennifer Paz, Catherine Ricafort, Enrico Rodriguez, and Chris-Ian Sanchez.

100% of proceeds to benefit Philippine Development Foundation.
