PHOTO FLASH: Lydia Diamond, Kenny Leon Honored in Martha’s Vineyard

On Sunday, August 14, playwright Lydia R. Diamond, director Kenny Leon, and producer Reuben Cannon were toasted on Martha’s Vineyard in celebration of the Broadway premiere of Diamond’s play Stick Fly, which is set in a Martha’s Vineyard mansion. The event was held at the home of investment banker Valerie Mosley.

Stick Fly will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on November 18, with an opening set for December 8. The play is a portrait of an upper class African American family vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard and explores parental expectations, sibling rivalry, and issues of class and race.
