Peccadillo Theater Company's production of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is now in rehearsal. It will begin previews on March 12 at Theatre at St. Clement's in anticipation of an official opening on March 20. Dan Wackerman will direct the production, which will have musical direction by Kristen Blodgette and feature choreography by Richard Stafford.

The musical, based on Betty Smith's novel of the same name, has music by Arthur Schwartz and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and centers on a young girl's relationship with her troubled parents in early 20th century New York. For the Peccadillo production, the show's original book, by George Abbott and Smith, has been revised by director Wackerman and librettist Susan DiLallo, who have worked from a revision by Elinor Renfield.

The company will feature Jim Stanek (Johnny), Elizabeth Loyacano (Katie), Keaton Whittaker (Francie), Klea Blackhurst (Cissy), Timothy Shew (Oscar), Lianne Marie Dobbs (Hildy), Jason Simon (Aloysius), and Thursday Farrar (Nellie), along with Matthew Bauman, Lauren Blackman, Jack Doyle, Christopher Kauffmann, Freddie Kimmel, Leah Landau, Kenny Morris, Johnny Stellard, and Toni Elizabeth White.

The creative team will include Joseph Spirito (scenic design), Kate Ashton (lighting design), and Amy Bradshaw (costume design).
