On Sunday, May 6, Mario Cantone hosted the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement Off-Broadway, at the NYU Skirball Center.
Once won three awards, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Choreographer for Steven Hoggett, and Outstanding Lighting for Natasha Katz.
Santino Fontana won Outstanding Lead Actor for his work in Stephen Karam’s Sons of the Prophet, which won Outstanding Play. Other winners include actors Sanaa Lathan (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark); Adam Driver (Look Back in Anger); and Tonya Pinkins (Milk Like Sugar). An Iliad, performed alternately by Denis O’Hare and Stephen Spinella, was named Outstanding Solo Show.
