Gavin Creel, Audra McDonald, Diane Paulus, Stephen Schwartz, Will Swenson, Randy Weiner, and Fran and Barry Weissler were among the attendees at a June 1 benefit for American Repertory Theatre’s new initiative A.R.T. in N.Y.C.. at the McKittrick Hotel.
The event featured a cocktail reception during which works born at the A.R.T. in Cambridge and bound for New York were celebrated, including the theater’s upcoming revival of The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, which will star McDonald.
In addition, guests enjoyed a private performance of Sleep No More, which was also seen at A.R.T. prior to its New York engagement. The show recently won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience.
