On Thursday, September 23, Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando opened at Classic Stage Company.

Adapted from the work of Virginia Woolf, the play concerns a typical Elizabethan man who wakes up one day to find that he has become a woman.

The production, which is directed by Rebecca Taichman, stars Francesca Faridany in the title role with Annika Boras (Sasha), Gibson Frazier (Marmaduke), David Greenspan (Queen Elizabeth), Tom Nelis (Sea Captain), and Howard Overshown (Othello).

Ruhl’s other plays include In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play, Eurydice, The Clean House, and Dead Man’s Cell Phone.
