The Broadway Show League kicked off its 57th season with an Opening Day ceremony hosted by Brian Stokes Mitchell, Thursday, May 12.

Aaron Tveit sang the National Anthem, and additional actors participating in the ceremony included Kerry Butler, Billy Crudup, Adam Dannheisser, Edie Falco, Mitchell Jarvis, Ryan Jesse, Chad Kimball, Barry Pearl, Darren Ritchie, Dominic Scaglione, Jr., Will Swenson, and Tom Wopat. Former New York Yankee Jeff Nelson was also on hand for the festivities.

During the ceremony, it was announced that there will be a charity softball game held on June 27 at Yankee Stadium to benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis and The Actors Fund.

Among the shows participating in The Broadway Show League this season are The Addams Family, Billy Elliot, Catch Me if You Can, Jersey Boys, Memphis, Rock of Ages, and Wonderland.

Open to public spectators, the games are held weekly on Thursday afternoons on the Hecksher Fields in Central Park.
