On Saturday, March 24, the New York ceremony for the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards was held at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The event was hosted by Glee‘s Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera.
As previously reported, this year’s award winners included Lady Gaga and Evita star Ricky Martin, as well as Tony Kushner’s The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, the musical Southern Comfort, and Wendy Graf’s No Word in Guyanese for Me.
Guests included LaLa Anthony, Laverne Cox, Dakota Fanning, Tracey Gold, Megan Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, Stephen Karam, Isis King, Carson Kressley, Padma Laskhmi, Jay Manuel, Charles Socarides, Kim Wayans, Johnny Weir, and Wendy Williams.
As previously reported, producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan were the recipients of the Vito Russo Award, which was presented to them by Broadway veterans Bernadette Peters and John Stamos.
