On Thursday, May 12, the revamped version of the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark had its first preview at the Foxwoods Theatre, after taking a hiatus to implement changes to the show.

The musical is inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books. It follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.

The new version features original direction by Juiie Taymor, direction by Philip Wm. McKinley, a book by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and a score by Bono and the Edge.

The show’s principal cast includes Reeve Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson, Patrick Page as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin, and T.V. Carpio as Arachne.
