PHOTO FLASH: Angel Desai, Paolo Montalban, James Yaegashi Preview Shinsai: Theaters for Japan

Cast members from Shinsai: Theaters for Japan previewed the upcoming benefit production Tuesday, March 6 at Lincoln Center Theatre’s rehearsal studio.

Cindy Cheung, Angel Desai, Li Jun Li, Paolo Montalban, Olivia Oguma, Thom Sesma, Jade Wu, Johnny Wu, and James Yaegashi performed “Four Black Dragons” and “Next” from Pacific Overtures, which featured new text and lyrics written specifically for the event by the musical’s creators, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman.

Weidman was on hand for the rehearsal, as were director Bartlett Sher and musical director Paul Gemignani. The cast was accompanied by Mark Mitchell.
