People Be Heard Offers "Pay What You Can Night"

The first preview performance of Playwrights Horizons’ world premiere production of People Be Heard on Tuesday, August 31 at 8pm will be “Pay What You Can Night.” Audience members will be asked to donate what they can afford for a limited number of tickets on a walk-up, cash-only, first-come, first-served basis, starting one hour before showtime. Seating is subject to availability. Tickets will be limited to two per person and will go on sale at 7pm at the Playwrights Horizons box office, located at 416 West 42nd Street.


People Be Heard is a comedy with songs following a single mother (and part-time stripper) who unwittingly becomes embroiled in a debate over the teaching of evolution in the schools. Directed by Erica Schmidt and with choreography by Peter Pucci, the show features songs by Quincy Long and original music by Michael Roth. The eight-person cast includes Guy Boyd, Funda Duval, Dashiell Eaves, Annie Golden, Laura Heisler, Brian Hutchison, Kathy Santen, and Conrad John Schuck.
