PBS to Re-Air Broadway: The American Musical in October and November
PBS will re-air the Emmy Award-winning miniseries Broadway: The American Musical beginning Sunday, October 7. The 6-part documentary will air through November 11.
Directed by Michael Kantor and hosted by Julie Andrews, the series chronicles the evolution of the Broadway musical in America throughout the 20th century, from the Ziegfeld Follies to the smash hit Wicked.
The episodes feature interviews with luminaries including Mel Brooks, Carol Channing, Kristin Chenoweth, Betty Comden, Harvey Fierstein, Joel Grey, Arthur Laurents, Chita Rivera, Stephen Sondheim, Ben Vereen, and many more.
