Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys' Keep a Child Alive organization will honor Oprah Winfrey at its Black Ball event, to be held on November 1 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, according to published reports.

Keep a Child Alive was founded in 2003 and assists those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

Winfrey produced the Broadway musical The Color Purple and starred in the film version of the Alice Walker novel of the same name. She is best known for her work as the host of the Emmy Award-winning The Oprah Winfrey Show and head of The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

Keys produced the Broadway production of Lydia R. Diamond's Stick Fly and composed original music for the show.
