The Mark Taper Forum has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will include, as previously announced, Moises Kaufman’s 33 Variations, starring Jane Fonda and running January 30 – March 6 in the Ahmanson Theatre.

The Taper’s season will open with John Lithgow’s solo show Stories by Heart (January 4 – February 13), which features the works of P.G. Wodehouse and Ring Lardner. Also on the theater’s schedule is a revival of Lanford Wilson’s Burn This (March 23 – May 1). Nicholas Martin will direct this piece that focuses on a dancer, who in her grief over the death of her long-time partner, finds an unexpected shift in her world.

Theresa Rebeck’s The Novelist will be the theater’s fourth offering, running September 7 – October 16. The play focuses on a novelist, his wife and sons and what happens when a cunning young female assistant enters their lives. The Taper’s season will conclude with Morris Panych’s portrait of a man who tends to a dying aunt, Vigil (November 2 – December 18). The production, directed by Panych, will star Marco Barricelli and Olympia Dukakis.
