NYMF Next Broadway Sensation Finalists Getting Ready for Singing Competition’s Grand Finale

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the eight finalists for the 7th annual NYMF Next Broadway Sensation Competition, who will compete in the competition’s grand finale on October 12 at 11pm at New World Stages.
Judges at the grand finale will include producer Ken Davenport, composer Lucy Simon, and actress Donna Lynne Champlin. Karen Mason will host the event, for which the winner will get a solo concert produced by NYMF and Sh-K-Boom Records as well as performance opportunities throughout the 2013 Festival season.
The finalist are Daniel Belnavis, Max Chernin, Joel Dommel, Alexis Fishman, Adam Kaplan, Charlotte Munson, Shannon O’Boyle, and Josephine Spada.
In addition, the finalists have been asked to take part in a concert at New World Stages on October 5 at 9 pm, hosted by Grammy and Oscar winning composer Stephen Schwartz. Each finalist will be paired with prominent composers, and the finalists will perform songs from their composers, who will then comment on their work. The evening will feature numbers by John Bucchino, Adam Gwon, Ryan Scott Oliver, Michael Patrick Walker), Daniel Mate, and Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond.
