NYMF Adds Five Musicals to 2007 Invited Works Selections

The New York Musical Theatre Festival has announced five additional musicals hat will be part of its Invited Work Series. The festival, which runs September 17-October 7, also includes the popular Next Link Series, which consists of 18 musicals, as well as other events.

The Beastly Bombing, Or A Terrible Tale Of Terrorists Tamed By The Tangles Of True Love
Libretto by Julien Nitzberg; Music by Roger Neill
This Gilbert & Sullivan-style romantic operetta is about white supremacists and Al Qaeda terrorists plotting to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge.

Bernice Bobs Her Mullet
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Joe Major
Loosely based on a story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the show tells the story of a young redneck who leaves her hometown to experience life in Little Rock.

The Brain from Planet X

An affectionate and hilarious send-up of bad 50s sci-fi movies, the musical tells the story of a Brain and its two alien cohorts, Zubrick and Yoni, who arrive on Earth in 1958 and plan to take over the San Fernando Valley — starting with the happy nuclear family, the Bunsons.

The Good Fight
