Nine DVD, Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, to Be Released May 4

The film version of the musical Nine, starring Daniel Day-Lewis as Guido Contini, will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on May 4.

Tony Award winner Rob Marshall directed the film, which includes three new songs, penned by composer Maury Yeston. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Music (Original Song) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Penélope Cruz, who plays Carla.

The cast also features Marion Cotillard (Luisa), Nicole Kidman (Claudia), Judi Dench (Lillie), Kate Hudson (Stephanie), Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson (Saraghina), and Sophia Loren (Mamma).

Special features on both the Blu-ray and DVD will include commentary by Marshall and producer John DeLuca; eight featurettes spotlighting the director, cast members, dancers, choreography, and behind the scenes footage; and three music videos. Blu-ray exclusives include an additional featurette on Sophia Loren, a Screen Actor’s Guild Q&A, and a movieIQ synch featuring the Nine playlist.
