New Plays by A.R. Gurney, Neil LaBute Part of Theater Breaking Through Barriers More of Our Parts Festival

Theater Breaking Through Barriers will present its second annual play festival More of Our Parts, June 21-July 1 at Theatre Row’s Clurman Theatre.

More of Our Parts features six short new plays about disabilities and the people affected by them by playwrights Neil LaBute, A.R. Gurney, Bekah Brunstetter, Bruce Graham, Samuel D. Hunter, and Jeffrey Sweet.

The world-premiere plays include Bekah Brunstetter’s After Breakfast, Maybe, the story of a young woman who plots to take over the world, directed by Christina Roussos; Bruce Graham’s The Ahhhh Factor, in which a producer and writer argue over a sex scene, directed by Russell Treyz; The Interview, A.R. Gurney’s look at a deaf man’s college admissions interview, directed by Ike Schambelan; Geese, Samuel D. Hunter’s story of a woman who wants to save the city parks geese, directed by Christopher Burris; The Wager by Neil LaBute, a play about a dangerous game of chance, directed by Ike Schambelan; and Jeffrey Sweet’s A Little Family Time, in which a writer is forced to introduce his fiancée to a corner of his life he would like to keep hidden, directed by Patricia Birch.

The acting ensemble will feature Melanie Boland, Tiffan Borelli, Donna Bullock, Shannon Devido, Stephen Drabicki, Joshua Eber, Shawn Elliott, Warren Kelley, Shawn Randall, Jonathan Todd Ross, Nicholas Viselli, and Blair Wing.

The design team is comprised of Bert Scott (set design) and Kristine Koury (costume design).
