The Collegiate Chorale, led by music director Robert Bass, will present An Evening of Kurt Weill at Alice Tully Hall at 8pm on February 4, 2004. An overview of Weill’s vocal works, the program will include musical excerpts from three of Weill’s musicals: Lost in the Stars, Marie Galante, and Happy End. Guest artists Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Damn Yankees) and Roger Rees (Nicholas Nickleby, A Man of No Importance) will participate in the event.

According to Bass, “Kurt Weill’s broad range of styles makes him a composer ideally suited to The Collegiate Chorale’s mission of exploring the full spectrum of the vocal arts. This eclectic blend of traditional, cabaret, and Broadway selections is a new direction not only for myself but also for Bebe and Roger.”

An Evening of Kurt Weill will be a semi-staged concert in two acts. Rees will direct the show in addition to serving as narrator and soloist, while Neuwirth will perform songs in French and English. Tickets are priced at $50, $35, and $25; they may be purchased by phoning 917-322-2140. For more information, visit the website www.collegiatechorale.org.
