Neil Patrick Harris to Co-Star in The Best and the Brightest and Beastly

Neil Patrick Harris will co-star in two films The Best and the Brightest and Beastly, both of which will film this summer, according to published reports.
The Best and the Brightest, co-written and directed by Josh Shelov, will focus on a couple from Delaware who move to New York’s Upper East Side and enter the world of the city’s private kindergartens. The cast will include Bonnie Somerville, Amy Sedaris, John Hodgman, Peter Serafinowicz, Bridget Regan, Kate Mulgrew, and Christopher McDonald.
In Beastly, a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast to be directed by Daniel Barnz, Harris will star alongside Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Harris, who just hosted the 2009 Tony Awards, stars on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. His stage credits include Assassins, Rent, and All My Sons.
