Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, whose life and career will be depicted in Tom Dugan's Wiesenthal, opens at Theatre Row this fall.

Wiesenthal, written by and starring Tom Dugan, will make its New York premiere with a limited 14-week engagement at the Acorn Theater at Theatre Row. Performances will begin October 24 in advance of a November 5 opening and will run through February 1, 2015.

Directed by Jenny Sullivan, the play tells the true story of Austrian Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal, often referred to as the "Jewish James Bond," who became a famed Nazi hunter after World War II. Part memoir and part spy thriller, Wiesenthal introduces this historical figure on the day before his retirement as he welcomes his final group of Americans to his office in the Jewish Documentation Center in Vienna.

"I am thrilled to make my New York debut with Wiesenthal," said Dugan. "Intelligent, funny, flawed and noble, Wiesenthal was a true and universal 20th century hero as he not only fought for the rights of Jewish Holocaust victims, but Soviet, Polish, Gypsy, Jehovah's Witness and homosexual victims as well."
