The television drama Nashville will be developed as a Broadway musical, producers Lionsgate and Scott Delman have announced. Additional information, including production dates and the complete creative team, will be announced in the coming years.

Nashville ran for six seasons on ABC, CMT, and Hulu. Created by Callie Khouri, the musical series chronicled the rise of young country singer Juliette Barnes alongside the fall of fading music superstar Rayna Jaymes. It starred Connie Britton for five seasons as Rayna, with Hayden Panettiere as Juliette.

This new musical version is expected to feature an original score written by major Nashville and Broadway songwriters, as well as a story crafted especially for the stage.
