Zoe Kazan, Janel Moloney, Will Rogers, and Jeremy Shamos will join previously announced star Lois Smith in Playwrights Horizons’ world premiere production of Kate Fodor’s 100 Saints You Should Know, which will begin previews on August 24. The production, to be directed by Ethan McSweeny, will open officially on September 18.

The show focuses on Teresa (Moloney), a rectory cleaning woman, who finds herself compelled to pursue the priest (Shamos) who was forced to leave the church under unusual circumstances and now lives with his mother (Smith).

The show’s creative team includes Rachel Hauck (sets), Mimi O’Donnell (costumes), Jane Cox (lighting), and Scott O’Brien (sound). Fodor is best known as the author of Hannah & Martin. McSweeny’s credits include the Broadway revival of The Best Man, Never the Sinner, and A Body of Water.

Kazan starred last season in the Off-Broadway revival of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and will be seen this fall in the New Group’s Things We Want. Moloney is a two-time Emmy Award nominee for her work as Donna Moss on The West Wing. Rogers last appeared Off-Broadway in Columbinus. Shamos won an Obie Award for Engaged and has starred on Broadway in Reckless and The Rivals.

Smith is a two-time Tony Award nominee for The Grapes of Wrath and Buried Child. She received numerous major awards, including the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle, for the Signature production of The Trip to Bountiful. She is currently appearing in Surface to Air at Symphony Space.
