Mireille Enos to Join Maggie Gyllenhaal, Allison Janney, Liev Schreiber, et al. in Reading of Alan Alda’s Radiance

Tony nominee Mireille Enos will join the previously reported Maggie Gyllenhaal, Allison Janney, Liev Schreiber, David Morse, and Bill Camp in a reading of Alan Alda’s new play, Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie, which will be presented as part of the 2011 World Science Festival‘s Opening Night Gala Celebration on Wednesday, June 1 at Alice Tully Hall. Enos replaces the previously announced Amy Adams.

This visually enhanced production, directed by Bob Balaban, explores the intellectual passions of Curie (played by Gyllenhaal), the physicist and chemist most famous for her pioneering research on radioactivity. The play also focuses on her tumultuous private life, which was marked by her strong determination to pursue both love and knowledge.

Enos received a Tony nomination for her role as Honey in the 2005 revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, with additional Broadway credits including The Invention of Love and Absurd Person Singular. She is also known for her work on HBO’s Big Love and AMC’s The Killing.
