Mint Theater Company’s What the Public Wants to Now Open Off-Broadway January 27

The Mint Theater Company will now begin performances of Arnold Bennett’s What the Public Wants on January 14, with a new opening date of January 27. Matthew Arbour directs the production.


The play is a satirical look at tabloid journalism, focusing on a media mogul who’s seeking to boost circulation as well as his social standing.

As previously reported, the company will feature Ellen Adair, Mary Baird, Rob Breckenridge, Birgit Huppuch, Laurie Kennedy, Jeremy Lawrence, Douglas Rees, and Marc Vietor.

The creative team will include Roger Hanna (scenic design), Erin Murphy (costume design), Marcus Doshi (lighting design), and Daniel Kluger (sound design).
