George Kelly's The Fatal Weakness Extends at the Mint Theater
The rare revival production adds performances to its limited run.
Off-Broadway's Mint Theater has announced an extension for its revival production of George Kelly's The Fatal Weakness. Previously announced to run through October 12, the show has now been extended to run through October 26, after beginning preview performances on August 19. The production's official opening is set for Monday, September 15.
The Fatal Weakness follows Ollie Espenshade, whose fatal weakness through 28 years of marriage has been her incurable romantic ideals. Produced on Broadway in 1946, the play offers a comic take on romance, marriage, and commitment. The Mint presents this play on the heels of its fall 2013 production of Kelly's Philip Goes Forth.
Directed by Jesse Marchese, the Mint cast features Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack. The creative team includes scenic design by Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Andrea Varga, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis, original music and sound design by Jane Shaw, and properties design by Joshua Yocom.
