Berkeley Repertory Theatre and South Coast Repertory are set to bring David Henry Hwang’s Chinglish to the 2013 Hong Kong Arts Festival, running March 1-6 in the Lyric Theatre at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts. As previously reported, Leigh Silverman, who helmed the Chicago and Broadway stagings of the comedy, will direct.

The full ensemble from Berkeley Rep, including Vivian Chiu, Celeste Den, Michelle Krusiec, Austin Ku, Alex Moggridge, Brian Nishii, and Larry Lei Zhang, is expected to travel to Hong Kong for the production.

In addition, the original Broadway design team will continue to collaborate on this production. That team includes David Korins (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design), and Jeff Sugg and Shawn Duan (projection design).

Chinglish will run August 24-October 7 at Berkeley Rep’s Roda Theatre.
