Mercedes Ruehl to Receive Guild Hall Lifetime Achievement Award logo

Tony Award winner Mercedes Ruehl will be among the recipients of the Guild Hall Academy of the Arts 22nd Annual Lifetime Acheivement Awards, which will be bestowed at their gala benefit, to be held at 6:30pm on Monday, March 19 at the Rainbow Room.

The event will be emceed by Marshall Brickman, the author of Jersey Boys and an Academy Award winner for Annie Hall. The other award recipients will be artist John Chamberlain, architecture critic and author Paul Goldberger, and Broadway producer and philanthropist Roy Furman.

The Guild Hall Academy of the Arts is located in East Hampton, New York; it includes a fine arts museum and a performing arts center. Previous recipients of the award include Alan Alda, Alec Baldwin, Lauren Bacall, and the late Wendy Wasserstein.

Ruehl won the Tony Award for Lost in Yonkers. Her many other stage credits include The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, The Rose Tattoo, Woman Before a Glass, and Viva La Vida!. She received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for The Fisher King.
