Memorial for Richard Adler on June 27 to Include Musical Tribute logo

Additional details have been announced for the memorial to honor the life and career of Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Richard Adler, which will be held at St. Bartholomew's Church (325 Park Avenue in New York City) on Wednesday, June 27 at 4pm.

The ecumenical service will be led by Rabbi Robert Summers; Rev. Lynn Sanders, Associate Rector at St. Bart's; and Rev. F.M "Buddy" Stallings, Priest in Charge at St. Bart's. Mr. Adler's children will be speaking and Paul Katz and Colleen Fitzpatrick will be performing a musical tribute. All are welcome.

As previously reported, Adler passed away on the evening of Thursday, June 21, at his home in Southampton, New York. He was 90. Adler won Tony Awards for co-composing the music and lyrics to the Tony-winning musicals The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees. He was also Tony-nominated for his score to Kwamina. Among his best known songs are "You Gotta Have Heart," "Hernando's Hideaway," "Whatever Lola Wants," and "Steam Heat."
