Meghann Fahy to Succeed Jennifer Damiano in Broadway’s Next to Normal

Meghann Fahy will take over the role of Natalie in the Broadway production of Next to Normal, at the Booth Theatre, beginning with the Monday, July 19 performance. She replaces Jennifer Damiano, who received a 2009 Tony Award nomination for her performance in the role.

As previously reported, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley will take over the lead roles of Diana and Dan Goodman on the same day. The cast will continue to feature Kyle Dean Massey, Adam Chanler-Berat and Louis Hobson.

The musical, written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey and directed by Michael Greif, addresses issues of mental illness and a suburban family’s efforts to cope with loss. It was recently awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and also received three Tony Awards.

Fahy made her Broadway debut understudying the role of Natalie in the musical, and first joined the company in its regional production at Arena Stage. She has appeared regularly on One Life to Live and has made a guest appearance on Gossip Girl.
