Full cast and creative team have been announced for the Intiman Theatre’s world premiere of Craig Lucas’ new play, Prayer for My Enemy, July 27-August 26. The production, to be directed by Bartlett Sher, opens officially on August 3; it will then travel to Connecticut’s Long Wharf Theatre, which commissioned the work, where it will run September 12-October 14.

The show will star James McMenamin and Daniel Zaitchik as childhood friends Tad and Billy, who are unexpectedly reunited as adults when Tad returns home divorced and Billy is about to be sent to Iraq. John Procaccino and Cynthia Lauren Tewes — who starred on the hit TV series The Love Boat under the name Lauren Tewes — will play Billy’s parents, Austin and Karen; Chelsey Rives will play Billy’s sister, Marianne; Conor Gormally will play Marianne’s autistic son, Tony; and Kimberly King will play Dolores.

The creative team will include John McDermott (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Stephen Strawbridge (lights), and Stephen LeGrand (sound).
Zuber won Tony Awards for The Light in the Piazza and Awake and Sing! — both of which were directed by Sher — as well as The Coast of Utopia. She and Sher will collaborate once more on the Lincoln Center Theater revival of South Pacific, set to open on Broadway in the spring of 2008.
