MCC has announced complete casting for its upcoming New York premiere of Jennifer Haley’s The Nether, directed by Anne Kaufman.

As previously announced, the cast will star Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), along with Tony nominee Peter Friedman (The Open House) and Tony winner Frank Wood (Clybourne Park). The cast will also include Ben Rosenfield (Boardwalk Empire) and 13-year-old Sophia Anne Caruso (The Sound of Music LIVE!) in the roles of Woodnut and Iris, respectively.

Set in the year 2050, The Nether follows a young female detective as she begins an investigation into the complicated morality of the digital world's newest frontier — a virtual playground where people can be coaxed into acting out their darkest fantasies, with no "real world" consequences.

Performances are set to run from February 4-March 15 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with an official opening set for February 24.
