Drama Desk Award nominee Max Jenkins and An American Daughter original Broadway cast member Erich Bergen will join the cast of the one-night-only reading of Wendy Wasserstein's An American Daughter, set to take place tonight, May 8, at the Tony Kiser Theater. Jenkins will take on the roles of Billy Robbins and Jimmy, with Bergen reading stage directions. The evening, directed by Oscar winner Christine Lahti, is presented by the Indigo Theatre Project and will benefit the organization She Should Run.

As previously announced, Golden Globe winner Keri Russell (The Americans) will head the cast as Dr. Lyssa Hughes, with Hugh Dancy as Walter Abrahmson, Jonathan Groff as Morrow McCarthy, Victor Garber as Senator Alan Hughes, Julie White as Charlotte "Chubby" Hughes, Zoe Kazan as Quincy Quince, Raúl Esparza as Timber Tucker, and Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Judith B. Kaufman.

A prophetic reflection of the modern political era, Wasserstein's play follows Lyssa Dent Hughes (Russell), an accomplished doctor and the President's newly named nominee for Surgeon General. While her confirmation at first seems inevitable, Lyssa is stunned when the vetting of her past leads to a scandal that threatens to derail her future.

Sound design will be by Emily Auciello, with lighting design by Aaron Porter.
