Mary Bacon, Francesca Faridany, et al. Set for Red Bull’s Duchess Reading

Mary Bacon, John Daggett, Francesca Faridany, Delphi Harrington, David Landon, Alex Morf, Alexander Sovronsky, Elliot Villar, and Nick Westrate will be featured in a staged reading of Duchess, to be presented at the Theater at St. Clement’s on Monday, March 22 at 7:30pm. Ian Strasfogel will direct.

This adaptation of John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi was penned by Bertolt Brecht and W.H. Auden. It was produced on Broadway in 1946, and intensifies the original’s dark undercurrents.

The reading is presented by Red Bull Theater in conjunction with its production of The Duchess of Malfi, which runs through March 28. Following the reading, there will be a post-play “Bull Session” with Matthew Smith, Professor of English, Boston University, and Edmund Miller, Chair, English Department, C.W.Post Campus, LIU
