Manhattan Children's Theatre Announces 2008-2009 Season logo

The Manhattan Children's Theatre has announced its 2008-2009 season, made up of five productions, including one world premiere.

The season will open with Allison Gregory's adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev's Peter & The Wolf, September 13-November 9, a musical tale suitable for ages 4 and up with Bruce Merrill at the helm. The adaptations continue with Kristin Walter's adaptation of Elves & The Shoemaker, November 15-January 4, a Brother Grimm's fairytale about a tailor who makes the most uncomfortable shoes in Grimmsville until he's visited by two little elves, Zulu and Herbie, who help the tailor make a decent life for his family.

Harry the Dirty Dog will follow, January 10-February 22, Karen Abbott's adaptation based on a book by Gene Zion about a dog who hates taking baths. If You Give a Pig a Party, February 28-April 12, is Nancy Schaeffer's adaptation based on Laura Numeroff's book series about Ms. Pig. The season will close with the world premiere of Stanley's Adventures, April 18-May 16, Linda Bailey and Bill Slavin's play about the adventures of a good dog in need of excitement.
