The Off-Broadway production of writer/director Willard Beckham’s new musical comedy Lucky Guy, at the Little Shubert Theatre, will close following the evening performance on Sunday, May 29. As of that time, it will have played 23 previews and 14 regular performances.

Set in Nashville, Tennessee, the musical weaves a tale of down-home dreamers and low-down schemers all willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top in the cut-throat world of Music City, USA.

The cast includes Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordan, Varla Jean Merman (aka Jeffery Roberson), Kyle Dean Massey, Jenn Colella, Jim Newman, and Savannah Wise, along with and Callan Bergmann, Xavier Cano, Wes Hart and Joshua Woodie as The Buckaroos.

The creative team includes Rob Bissinger (set design), Paul Miller (lighting design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Kurt Fischer (sound design), A.C. Ciulla (choreography), Todd Ellison (orchestrations and musical supervision) and Mark Hummel (dance arrangements).

Along with the closing announcement, producer L. Glenn Poppleton stated that the show will be recorded for a soon-to-be-released original cast recording.
