London's West End Production of Once Releases Cast Album

The London production of the hit musical Once, which recently received six 2014 Olivier Award nominations, has released a cast album. The recording features the cast of the West End production, currently playing at the Phoenix Theatre.

Inspired by the acclaimed independent film of the same title, Once won eight 2012 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, as well as the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The musical features a book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh, Academy Award-winning music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by John Tiffany (The Glass Menagerie), movement by Steven Hoggett (What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe.

Once's 2014 Olivier nominations include Best New Musical, Best Actress in a Musical for Zrinka Cvitešić, Best Theatre Choreography for Steven Hoggett, Outstanding Achievement in Music for Martin Lowe, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová for music and lyrics, Best Set Design for Bob Crowley, and Best Sound Design for Clive Goodwin.
