York Theatre Company artistic director James Morgan has announced that the theater will celebrate the 100th birthday of famed lyricist Alan Jay Lerner during its 2019 Musicals in Mufti season.

The winter season will present three of his rarely seen musicals: Carmelina, written with Burton Lane, Barry Harman, and Joseph Stein (January 26-February 3); Dance a Little Closer , written with Charles Strouse (February 9-17); and Lolita, My Love, written with John Barry, and adapted for this production by Erik Haagensen (February 23-March 3).

Additionally, the York will present several special events surrounding the Lerner centennial, including The Songs of Alan Jay Lerner (February 25), The Creation of My Fair Lady (February 4), and The Creation of Camelot (February 6). The latter presentations are created by theater historian Charles Troy.
