Local One Ratifies Contract logo
Local One of the I.A.T.S.E. has overwhelmingly voted to ratify its contract with The League of American Theatres and Producers. The contract will last for five years.

Local One struck Broadway on November 10, and did not return to work until November 29. The strike centered on a number of issues, most notably, the number of employees -- including carpenters and electricians -- that need to be hired during a show's load-in process. The League gained some flexibility in how many stagehands need to be hired, with minimums now set for 12 workers per day for a play and 17 workers per day for a musical, while Local One members gained yearly pay increases. There were also rule changes made in other areas.

In a statement released on November 29, the League's executive director Charlotte St. Martin said, "The contract is a good compromise that serves our industry."
