Liza Minnelli to Appear at Montreal Jazz Festival

Tony Award winner Liza Minnelli will perform on Friday, July 5 as part of the 33rd edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.


Other performers scheduled to appear at the Festival, which runs at various venues from June 28 through July 7, include Miche Braden, who will appear in The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith: The Devil’s Music, as well as Chris Botti, Stanley Clarke, Lila Downs, Elaine Elias, Richard Galliano, Melody Gardot, Vernon Reid, Esperanza Spalding, Wayne Shorter, and James Taylor.


Minnelli’s most recent Broadway show, Liza’s at the Palace, won a 2009 Tony for Best Special Theatrical Event. She also won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act. She won the Academy Award for Cabaret and the Emmy Award for Liza With a “Z”.
