Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda will be featured in Mike Fitelson's gallery exhibit, Northern Manhattan as Muse, at NoMAA Gallery @ Cornerstone Center, with an opening reception on January 5 at 6pm. The exhibit lasts through Friday, February 10.

The gallery exhibition features photographic portraits, essays, and artwork documenting how 17 local artists are inspired by Washington Heights and Inwood.

For each artist, Fitelson wrote an essay and made an environmental portrait that references how Northern Manhattan served as their creative muse. Miranda, creator of the Tony Award-winning In the Heights, was photographed in the bodega that partly inspired him to write the musical.

Additional featured artists include hip-hop singer/songwriter Audubon; miniaturist Natasha Beshenkovsky; new media artist Hector Canonge; dancer/choreographer Edgar Cortes; painter Andrea Cukier; actor/writer/producer/comedian Michael Diaz; painter Elissa Gore; novelist Jon Michaud; photography program NYC Salt; musician/music producer Frankie P; drawer Sky Pape; theatre company The People's Theater Project; artist/graphic artist M. Tony Peralta; muralist Dister Rondon; painter Tony Serio; and filmmaker Jonathan Ullman.

The gallery is open weekdays during business hours or by appointment. For more information, call 212-568-4396.
