Leslie Kritzer to Join Fierstein and Prince in A Catered Affair

Leslie Kritzer will star as bride-to-be Jane Hurley opposite Tony Award winners Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein in the new musical A Catered Affair, which will play a pre-Broadway tryout at San Diego’s Old Globe Theater, September 20-October 28.

The show, which will open officially on September 30, will be directed by Tony winner John Doyle. Additional casting and creative team will be announced shortly.
A Broadway bow in Sprng 2008 is expected.

The musical, which has a book by Fierstein and music and lyrics by John Bucchino, is centered around a family wedding that takes place in 1953 in the Bronx. Prince will star as Aggie Hurley, the mother of the bride, and Fierstein will play her brother, Winston.

Kritzer is currently appearing on Broadway in Legally Blonde, for which she received Equity’s Clarence Derwent Award. Her other stage credits include Hairspray, The Great American Trailer Park Musical (for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination), Funny Girl, and Godspell.
