Len Cariou, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Bebe Neuwirth, Lee Roy Reams, et al. Set for 2011 Astaire Awards

Bebe Neuwrith and Lee Roy Reams will host the 2011 Astaire Awards, whuch will be presented in a ceremony to be held on Sunday, May 15 at NYU’s Skriball Center for the Arts. Joe Lanteri will direct the event.

Len Cariou and Brian Stokes Mitchell, will co-present the Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award to Jacques D’Amboise. In addition, Bill Irwin, Maurice Hines, Christine Andreas, Karen Ziemba, Charlotte DAmboise, and Christopher D’Amboise will be presenters.

The nominated choreographers are Rob Ashford for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Marguerite Derricks for Wonderland, Kathleen Marshall for Anything Goes, Danny Mefford for Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson, Jerry Mitchell for Catch Me if You Can, Casey Nicholaw The Book of Mormon, Toby Sedgwick for War Horse, Susan Stroman for The Scottsboro Boys, and Anthony Van Laast for Sister Act.

The male performers who have received nominations include Nick Adams for Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical, Norbert Leo Butz and Aaron Tveit for Catch Me if You Can, Colman Domingo and Joshua Henry for The Scottsboro Boys, Colin Donnell for Anything Goes, Josh Gad for The Book of Mormon, and Daniel Radcliffe for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.


Nominated for the Female Dancer, Broadway award are Rachel de Benedet, Jennifer Frankel and Angie Schworer for Catch Me if You Can, Sutton Foster and Laura Osnes for Anything Goes, J. Elaine Marcos for Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical, Patina Miller for Sister Act, and Megan Sikora and Samantha Zack for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
