Lee Tergesen will join previously announced cast members J. Smith-Cameron, Brian J. Smith, Christopher Abbott, Betty Gilpin, and Kellie Overbey in Second Stage Theatre’s production of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s Good Boys and True. The show, which will begin on April 23, with an official opening slated for May 19, will be directed by Scott Ellis.

It will feature set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Tom Broeker, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, and sound design by Lewis Flinn. Ellis’ many Broadway credits include Curtains, Twelve Angry Men, The Little Dog Laughed, and 1776.

Good Boys and True is set against a backdrop of 1980’s privilege and power, and tells of a disturbing scandal at an all-boys prep school that forces a mother to confront the truth about her son and herself. Aguirre-Sacasa’s previous plays include the Second Stage Uptown production of The Mystery Plays, as well as Based on a Totally True Story, Dark Matters, Golden Age, and Say You Love Satan.

Tergesen’s stage credits include The Foreigner and The Exonerated. He is best known for playing the role of Tobias Beecher on the hit HBO series Oz.
