Lea DeLaria to Record Live CD

Lea DeLaria will record a live CD on October 26-27 at the New York City jazz club Smoke (2751 Broadway, at 106th Street).

She will perform songs by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, and Michael John LaChiusa, among other composers. DeLaria will be accompanied by pianist Gil Goldstein, saxophonist Seamus Blake, and guest vocalist Ian Shaw.

DeLaria received a Theatre World Award for the 1998 revival of On the Town and also starred on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show. Her many other stage credits include Hair, Happy Days, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the recent NYMF production of Roller Derby. She has recorded two previous CDs, Play It Cool and Double Standards.
