Laurence Luckinbill will read his one-person show, Clarence Darrow Tonight!, at the June Havoc Theatre on June 19 at 7pm. Proceeds will benefit Abingdon Theatre Company’s mission to develop and produce new plays by American playwrights.

During his dramatic career in law, Darrow was a primary member of the American Civil Liberties Union who fought for civil rights and decent working conditions and against the injustice of the death penalty. Luckinbill first performed the play for Ensemble Theatre Company in 1999.

The actor, who serves as an Honorary Board Member for Abingdon, also currently tours in solo performances portraying Lyndon Johnson and Theodore Roosevelt, in addition to Darrow. He received a Tony nomination for his work in The Shadow Box, and film and television credits include Such Good Friends, Cocktail, and The Delphi Bureau. In 1993, he wrote and co-produced with his wife, Lucie Arnaz, Lucy & Desi: A Home Movie, a two-hour television documentary that won an Emmy Award.
