Laura Linney to Star in MTC's Time Stands Still on Broadway
The play -- previously announced to play MTC's Off-Broadway home at City Center in the fall -- concerns long-term couple James and Sarah, a journalist and a photographer who share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when injuries force them to return home to New York, they confront the prospect of a more conventional life.
Linney received Tony nominations for The Crucible and Sight Unseen, with additional Broadway credits including Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Uncle Vanya, and Holiday. She won the 2008 Emmy Award for HBO's John Adams and is a three-time Oscar nominee for The Savages, Kinsey, and You Can Count on Me.
In related news, Lynn Redgrave's solo show Nightingale will now open MTC's Off-Broadway season at City Center, with previews beginning October 15, with an opening set for November 3. The play is inspired by her need to discover memories of her grandmother -- a woman she barely knew. MTC also plans to feature one more production for New York City Center - Stage I, to be announced at a future date. For more information, visit www.ManhattanTheatreClub.com.
