Produced by Indigo cofounding artistic directors Nick Gereffi and Rachel Sussman, the reading will feature Keenan-Bolger as Kate Quin, Benanti as Samantha Stewart, Kron as Mrs. Plumm, Milioti as Leilah, Emmy Award nominee Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie) as Holly Caplan, Lisa Joyce (The Mound Builders) as Muffet DiNicola, Aya Cash (The Other Place) as Rita Altabel, Jennie Barber (The Nance) as Susie Friend, Obie Award winner Tracee Chimo (Bad Jews) as Carter, Byron Jennings (Arcadia) as The Male Voice, and Melissa Ross as the narrator.
Told through a series of flashbacks, Wasserstein's first play explores the lives of five friends as they look back on their time at Mount Holyoke College and recall the memories that shaped who they are. The work premiered at the Phoenix Theatre in 1977. A film version was broadcast on PBS in 1979.
