LaChanze, Pinkins, Vereen Join Eartha Kitt’s Birthday Celebration

Tony Award winners LaChanze, Tonya Pinkins, and Ben Vereen will take part in C’est Si Bon: Eartha Kitt’s Fabulous 80th Birthday Concert, to take place on Monday, June 25 at Carnegie Hall. The show will be part of the 2007 JVC Jazz Festival-New York, which will take place throughout New York City, June 17-30.

In related news, Kitt will return to the Café Carlyle, September 18-October 27. She has played the famed Upper East Side cabaret on numerous occasions.

The JVC Jazz Festival estival will incorporate nearly 200 concerts in over 25 venues. Among the highlights are New York City Gay Men’s Chorus’ Take The A Train: NYCGMC Sings Billy Strayhorn, directed by Joanna Gleason and featuring guest stars Judy Blazer and Darius de Haas, on June 18 at the Nokia Theatre; Phoebe Jacobs – A Life Well-Lived, at The Kaye Playhouse on June 21, featuring Barbara Carroll, Andre de Shields, Mercedes Ellington, and Bucky Pizzarelli; singer Patti LaBelle at Carnegie Hall on June 22; and Nancy Wilson’s Swingin’ 70th Birthday Party, June 29 at Carnegie Hall, in which the legendary singer will be joined by Regina Carter, Kurt Elling, Nnenna Freelon, Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, and Dianne Reeves.
