La Cage Aux Folles to Launch National Tour in Fall 2011

Terry Johnson’s Tony Award-nominated revival of La Cage Aux Folles will launch a national tour in the fall of 2011. Further details about the tour, including casting, will be announced shortly.

The musical, with a book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, features choreography by Lynne Page, scenic design by Tim Shortall, costume design by Matthew Wright, lighting design by Nick Richings, and sound design by Jonathan Deans. The entire creative team, along with orchestrator Jason Carr, have received Tony nominations and will be participating in the national tour.

La Cage aux Folles is currently playing at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre. The Broadway company features Tony Award nominees Kelsey Grammer (Georges), Douglas Hodge (Albin), and Robin De Jesus (Jacob), along with Fred Applegate (M. Dindon/M. Renaud), Veanne Cox (Mme. Dindon/Mme. Renaud), Chris Hoch (Francis), Elena Shaddow (Anne), A.J. Shively (Jean-Michel), Christine Andreas (Jacqueline), Heather Lindell (Colette), Bill Nolte (Tabarro), and David Nathan Perlow (Etienne).

The Cagelles are played by Nick Adams, Sean A. Carmon, Nicholas Cunningham, Sean Patrick Doyle, Logan Keslar and Terry Lavell. The production also features Christophe Caballero, Todd Lattimore, Dale Hensley, Caitlin Mundth and Cheryl Stern..
